Business model

Business
model

Our ability to create value over time is proven by our transformation of the capital available to the company. This value creation benefits not only our company but also all our stakeholders.

The external
context

We mainly work with market leaders in the designer and luxury sector, where sustainability is an increasingly important issue. Sustainability is an important aspect of communication with end customers, who have transitioned towards more sustainable consumption over the past decade.

The current production, distribution and utilisation system in the clothing industry is almost completely linear: large quantities of non-renewable resources are extracted to produce clothing that is often only used for a short period of time before being sent to a landfill or incinerated. The transition to a circular economy model is essential to reduce the entire sector’s harmful impact.

Risks and
opportunities

Gentili Mosconi prioritises risk management and the assessment of opportunities that may arise in the medium to long term. We define our strategic priorities to minimise risks and maximise opportunities.

What are
the risks?

01

Scarcity of raw materials or price hikes due to environmental, public health, political or social events on the global stage

02

Suppliers’ inadequate awareness of the importance of sustainability

03

Increasing pressure on sales prices

04

Inability to respond to increasingly demanding and granular requirements related to safety, sustainability and transparency of the supply chain

E

to be agile enough to adapt our business models to the global market’s needs

What are
the opportunities?

01

Develop a greater understanding of sustainability throughout the supply chain.

02

Pre-empt market demands to be able to meet current and future requirements in terms of creativity, innovation, sustainability and circular economy.

03

Improve supplier vetting and introduce assessment tools to reinforce partnerships based on shared objectives.

04

Consolidate the sustainability performance measurement system.

05

Offer assistance to customers in identifying new raw materials, products and more sustainable production systems.

06

Optimise the management of natural resources (water and energy) used in production to contain our direct and indirect environmental footprint.

07

Ensure the transparency and traceability of the raw materials used for each product throughout the supply chain.

08

Consider systematic approaches for employee well-being and upskilling.
